Sight-_Seeing 2

A heterogeneous set of collectively taken pictures of Tyrolean winter landscapes—halfway between tourism’s advertising images and contemporary photos—is spatially arranged in the photobook Sight-_Seeing 2.

Also in this second edition the beginnings of the project was an incredibly large image archive, made up by pictures taken by the photographers Hans Herbig, Verena Kathrein, Jörg Koopmann, Regina Recht, Sebastian Schels, Alexander Ziegler and Richard Walch.

Unlike the previous set of pictures—which images had been characterized by strong visual contrasts that facilitated their combinations—the photos of this round were somehow visually levelled to varying degrees by the omnipresence of the snow.

Such a potential disadvantage was turned into a winning factor by voiding the margins between images, thus taking advantage of the inevitable differences between the various gradations of whiteness to subtly reveal the inner quality of each picture.
